Description

For sale is a small single transverse mode (TEMoo), red (633 nm) HeNe laser tube in an original metallic bracket and a power supply for 115 VAC mains (picture #1). The laser tube is type LGR 7631A, made by Siemens, Germany, in March 1985 (pictures #2 - #3). Its metallic bracket has slots for aligning it on a bench. The power supply of this laser is a brick-type, model 4009439, made by Laser Drive, Inc., USA, in Nov. 1985
(it came with the original laser tube)
. This particular brick needs also a 5 VDC power supply. The Laser Drive brick and the 5 VDC additional power supply, from a phone charger, are mounted in a Uniphase box from which the original damaged brick was removed (pictures #4 - #7). An original replaceable 1.0 A fuse is located inside the Uniphase box. The laser and the power supply are used, but in surprisingly good condition. They were p
rofessionally tested during long time operation.
The output beam power is 1.2 mW,
making it a Class 3R hazard type of laser (for visible HeNe lasers, powers between 1 mW and 5 mW; pictures #8 - #11). The beam polarization is random.
The warm up time is cca. 20 min. Good for educational experiments in optics, alignment, holography, for hobbyists, or as a collectible item.
Pictures' explanation: #1 - what you buy and get - the laser tube with metallic bracket and the modified power supply in a Uniphase box; #2 - #3 - the laser tube; #4 - #6 - modified power supply; ; #7 - schematic of the Laser Drive brick with colored wires and their destination;
#8 - #11 - measuring the output power by using a professional laser powermeter (the measuring equipment is not for sale); #8 - #9- zeroing the detector; #10 - #11 - full laser power.
