    Description

    1928 This is a panel of Four 5c Panama stamps #257 featuring Lindbergh's Airplane and Map of Panama which were
    issued to commemorate the visit of Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh to Central America by airplane.
    The Republic issued a pair of commemorative stamps, Scott Nos. 256-257. Due to the
    short notice of the visit, the stamps had to be produced locally. This was done through
    cooperation of the Panama Director of Posts and Telegraphs, the Panama City newspaper
    Star and Herald,
    and the Panama Canal Press.
