Northwest Airlines Corporation (NWA) was a major United States airline founded in 1926 and absorbed into Delta Air Lines by a merger in 2008. NWA continued to operate under its own name and brand until the integration of the carriers was completed in 2010. For auction is an opened deck of playing cards from Northwest Orient, its original name, circa 1980s. The deck measures appx 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.

by a merger in 2008. NWA continued to operate under its own name and brand until the integration of the carriers was completed in 2010.
Northwest was
headquartered near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
. After World War II, it became
dominant US carrier in the trans-Pacific market
with a hub in Tokyo, Japan. After
acquiring Republic Airlines in 1986
, NWA also established major hubs at Detroi and Memphis. The Detroit and Minneapolis operations were retained as Delta hubs but not Memphis. Prior to its merger with Delta, Northwest was the world's sixth largest airline in terms of domestic and international scheduled passenger miles flown and the US's sixth largest airline in terms of domestic passenger miles flown.
For auction is an unopened deck of playing cards from Northwest
, circa 1990s. The deck measures appx 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.
