ANTIQUE 1920 LA TAUSCA GILT ORMOLU CAMEO CRYSTAL GLASS CABOCHON AND FACETED JEWELED BOX CASKET CASE
For your consideration is the La Tausca jewelry box pictured above. A 1920's jewelry box, La Tausca was known for their high-end faux pearls and their presentation boxes. Their early jeweled boxes produced in 1915 were so popular that they won awards at the 1915 Panama-Pacific San Francisco World's Fair. Today, their faux pearls are not popular but their early jeweled boxes continue to be a desirable collectible item. The box pictured above measures approximately 9 1/4 X 5 X 2 1/4 inches, has eighteen multi-colored crystal glass
cabochons, four faceted crystal glass stones and centered by a beautiful cameo.
The box is in very good condition for its age. Use and condition
commensurate with age.
Most of all their boxes originally produced with a second shelf insert on which the pearls were displayed. This box has the 2nd shelf insert. La Tausca boxes this one is rare.
