To begin, I have decades of experience safely shipping heavy/fragile machinery etc. Includes bowl but has no attachments. I made a demonstration video so you can hear it run (search on youtube for this title: " ahp-washington listing hobart n50", it should come right up, just use the quotes) . Works on all three speeds, it makes an obvious noise on the 2nd speed setting which can be made to go away by applying some back pressure to the spring loaded speed lever (see video). Also makes noise on the slowest setting and again can be made to go away as in the 2nd setting. The speed control lever is locked when the machine is powered on. That lever has play but changes the internal speed setting with no issues (you can wiggle the lever around on any of the speed settings, I didn't find anything...continued in FULL LISTING

The photos load incrementally below depending on your connection, please allow a few seconds for the photos to appear
--- To begin, I have decades of experience safely shipping heavy/fragile machinery etc.  Includes bowl but has no attachments.  I made a demonstration video so you can hear it run (search on youtube for this title: " ahp-washington listing hobart n50", it should come right up, just use the quotes, or the link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaSZDWKwtFo).
--- Works on all three speeds, it makes an obvious noise on the 2nd speed setting which can be made to go away by applying some back pressure to the spring loaded speed lever (see video).  Also makes noise on the slowest setting and again can be made to go away as in the 2nd setting. The speed control lever is locked when the machine is powered on.  That lever has play but changes the internal speed setting with no issues (you can wiggle the lever around on any of the speed settings, I didn't find anything that appeared loose or missing inside and just assume it is part of the design, and you can see in the video how I can move it a little and make the noise go away).
--- I show photos with the top side control plate removed so you can see the speed control interior.  Inside that chamber are two bolts above the plate that guides the speed control lever, they were not fully tightened and I tried adjusting the location slightly to see if the noise would persist but no adjustments to that plate made any difference.  When I had first taken that speed control panel off the translucent orange grease was ample on the control lever shaft and in that chamber, during my inspection some of that grease was wiped off and is why you don't see it on the inside lever shaft etc.
--- Another issue is the set knob for the front top center drive attachment shaft is bent, I tried to turn it but it feels very stiff, I can see cracks in the plastic of that black set knob but the cast housing in that area appears undamaged (not cracked).  That front attachment drive socket turns properly on all speeds.
--- The mixing attachment area above the bowl appears to be turning properly with general main rotation and rotation of the attachment fitting (I used to work in restaurants and have used this same mixer for cream and also have used the larger floor models for many applications, so I've seen and used these before, it's been years and I'm not an expert but I have at least used these in the past).
--- The back top round housing cap has a few dents.  Much of the finish paint is missing around the entire forward area of the top housing.  The included mixing bowl has some denting.  The fittings to hold and attach the bowl are all fine and the vertical lever control appears fine.  There is paint loss in the bowl of the base with some oxidation in places and most obviously seen in the center.
-- I noted a small scar/gouge in the metal below the top side speed control plate (look straight down from the on/off switch and you can see a small deep gouge in the metal just below the panel plate).
--- The bottom feet are sticky, at least one is sticky enough to leave residue (rubber deterioration).  Other general wear and as you can see I didn't do any cleaning around the mixing assembly above the bowl. The power cord appears original with no repairs (but is dirty).
-- I don't know the vintage of this machine, I show the data plate and I assume the serial number would date it.
--- I've packed and shipped fragile machinery weighing over 150lbs, I pack so the container can be dropped on concrete with no worries about damage.  I custom make shipping containers using new double faced insulating foam and think everything through until I'm satisfied no shipping damage can occur.
