HELIUM NEON LASER HP HEWLETT PACKARD 05517-68218 HeNe OPTIC& 0950-0470 HV supply

Description

Here looks to be a precision laser with some type of lens or focusing on front.
We do not know a lot about it but here is what we found:
Connected a variable 3 amp DC power supply, connected POSitive to both red wires (one on HV supply, one coming out of end of laser unit) , NEGative to black and purple wires (black on HV supply, Purple coming out of end of laser unit)

Slowly raised voltage and HeNe began to sputter at around 13 volts and "lase" (light up steady)  at 14 Volts We increased to 15 volts figuring that to be a standard voltage, and observed a stable red dot (  back end lights up nice orange glow, and front end projects a red dot out onto wall,  as expected.)
Current draw remained constant at 2 amps.
We do not know any other specs
There is "3 MM"  and "3432"  written on bottom of metal cylinder if that has any significance.
Sold as is as you see it!  NO guarantees as to wavelength, brightness, specs etc.
Buyer to have proper safety and knowledge of use (do NOT look directly into business end of laser! Duh! ) In our picture we held the camera at a side angle so you can see red dot at front end,  but not directly in line as to not fry the camera image chip!
ONLY what is shown is included, while the black HV supply module as shown IS included, you will need to add a 15 or 16 vdc 2A supply
(or maybe go up to 2.5 to 3 amps so you are not running right at full load) or use with standard HP equipment it was meant for.
